Thursday December 2,2010

2 and 1/2 hours after the buns are risen here sits a plate of finished thin bread fit for the God's...tomorrow I think I will make some Christmas cookies or maybe some biscotti......

today after Lyle went to work I decided to make a batch of thin bread..this is the buns rising...waiting to be rolled and cooked......
although it was quite cold -28 there abouts this morning.....the trees and yard were very pretty ...snow cold and sunshine ....great combination for picture taking.......

some more of Mother Nature's handiwork....absolutely beautiful.......

this is a photo of our big dog Bing....because he is black except for his bib he is hard to take pictures of...but my gdaughter managed to take this striking pose of him.....

today has been a fairly busy day..with the holidays fast approaching it is now time to start and do some baking...I enjoy baking do lots for gift giving....so pleased to be feeling so much better than a few weeks ago....today has been a GOOD day filled with all the pleasures of the season....

Wednesday December 1,2010

apparently teaching Gma to play bay blades is exhausting........

Griffin was determined I was going to learn to play bay blades and by the rules, too..........
so here he was explaing the rules in detail......

today we went out and put up some outdoor decorations...this snow women holds a sign that says," Hauskaa Joulua " Finnish for "Season's Greetings".......

I am not taking any chances I also dug out the Santa key and have it hung up on the door.....

and yes I washed our Rough Rider jerseys and put them away for the year.........

Today has been a busy day but a GOOD day because not only did I get quite a bit done I can honestly say today I feel very GOOD.....:D

Wow! here we are at the beginning of a new month ....a very busy month which will enevitably harold the end of another year....my how time flies...today I have caught my delinquent blogg up (somehow when one is ill..blogging is not high priority...but it is a GOOD feeling to be caught up)....:D

week starting November 29th

this is one of two European Starlings who have been coming to our feeder....albeit they are scavenger birds or so the birdbook says they do add variety and interest to the feeder and we have never had them before.......
with all the snow we have everything is looking very pretty.....

on Monday the 29th I went to Yorkton and spent the day with the gchildren as their folks had to go to drs appointment in Regina......

Griffin was home with me Monday as he was under the weather...he had asked me to make him Richau (a Pokeman character) and I finished it and he was quite pleased........

albeit I have been sick a lot this month I have been busy and it has been a fairly GOOD month...:D

week of November21-28th

there is just nothing like the warmth of a blazing fire when the wind is blowing outside.......

last Saturday the 27th we took the dogs for their run and I was quite impressed by the amount of snow we have already....these banks are quite pretty...considering this is only the end of November...I wonder what is in store for us......

this photo was taken just at day break everything looks so quiet and peaceful and it was also very cold....morning light does not come until close to 8:00 o'clock these mornings.....dark early and light late.......tis the season....

this is one of my crazy woodpeckers...I find alot of amusement in their antics....of course I enjoy bird watching especially when they are right out the front window.......

I did manage to muster up some ambition and put up the tree along with some decorations and now let the baking begin...........

on Sunday the 21st our RoughRiders beat Calgary in the semi-finals to give them a chance to play Montreal for the Grey Cup in Edmonton...a repeat of last year and after all the hyp of the Grey Cup the Rough Riders lost Sunday the 28th .....oh well there's always another year to look forward to......

week of Nov 14-21,2010

this woodpecker was sitting out on the railing waiting for me tto give him some peanuts and when I didn't he decided to eat the chikadeed bread crusts all the while he had the choice of 2 suet blocks.....

during one of the winds this week this poplar tree top broke dropped in the truck box right next to the woodshed...convience and a bit of serendipity.......

on Tuesday the 16 th I had to go to Moosomin and along the road these huge wind turbines are being constructed..they are huge ...they are part of a year long project which should be completed this coming April....quite the sight out in the fields...I don't know how many there are but quite a few....pretty amazing...the thought of being able to harness all our wind and use it is mind blowing......

in a small town such as ours one never really has to wait in line for much but today I waited nearly 15 minutes at the post office ......a sure sign Christmas is in the air........

this photo was taken on Wednesday the 17th...I had to travel to Yorkton for an appointment and it must have been move your house down the number 9 highway as between Whitewood and Yorkton (about 60 mile distance) I encountered not 1 not 2 but 3 houses on the move....and the weather was stormy and windy......

November in review

in spite of the fact that we had to leave the farma in a major storm on Wed Nov 10th by the morning of the 11th it was quite pleasant albeit we did get a fair bit of snow....which did not go away......

Griffin and Dani stopped in for a quick visit on there way thro to spend time in Estevan...this is their dog Jake with them...he is such a lovable creature.....Reese is laying getting her belly rubbed...

Dad wanted to enclose the door as when a wind blows it has a tendancy to grab his front door and he hopes this will solve this problem.....

this photo shows a more completed view of the addition.....Dad wants to store his snow blower and such in this....this was taken early Tuesday and by Wednesday at noon there was about a foot of snow.....

from November 5-8 we went to the farma where Lyle helped Dad put a porch on the house..when we arrived it was an absolutely georgous day and so the building began.....

November has been a rather uneventful month as I have spent most of it being sick but such is life..seem to be on the mend and hoping for a much better December....
