Monday May 23 (day 143)- Thursday May26 (day146)

.....this week there have been several changes as the season starts to kick into action...the blooms on our fruit trees are popping...

...one of the latest pansies I have added to my yard.....

....the mountain ash are busy producing their fruit....

...even the little wood violets are prepared to show themselves for our pleasure..

....and the lilac are so close to popping....can't wait......

this week has been a week of promise as plants and animals promise a wonderful summer...albeit a bit slow getting started......has been a GOOD week.....since May 26 is MS Awareness Day....my wish is that with awareness a cure can be found for the many demons such as MS Cancer and Diabetes many of us face daily.....

Sunday May 22,2011 Day 142

..after a trying few days of dealing with our loss I believe this oriole was sent to tell us that Brad is well and that wile we will miss and mourn him life must go on just as this prickly pear demonstrates as it started to burst into color today from a once dorminant state.....life goes on and it can be prickly but it is GOOD....

Saturday May 21 (Day 141) 2011

...today it is with sad and heavy hearts we meet with family and friends to say good-bye and to celebrate our dear friend Brad's life...Brad succumbed to a brief but painful bout of the demon cancer...he struggled and fought bravely to the end but as with many illness there comes a time when enough is just enough and we need to rest...

....Brad was a childhood buddy of my husbands and being such has been part of our lives for many years...a thoughtful service organized by his Mom and sister made for a very meaningful day of celebration...Brad's friends shared memories and through each one's special thoughts Brad's many aspects of his life were shown....

....one needs only to be part of such a service to realize what an impact each of us have on so many people and what an impact each of us make on so many....none of us stand alone we are all here for one another.....

....Brad we love and will miss you dearly but have been honored to have had you in our lives ...we appreciate you were tired and needed to rest....why you had to suffer we do not know and wish you would not have had to but this was not our plan....you were a wonderful person and we hope we can be as GOOD a person as you were.....till we meet again......:)

Monday May 16 (Day136)-Friday May 20 (Day140)

.....spring and warmer days must be evident as the orioles have come back (I am sure they are wondering if they haven't made an arror in judgement)....back they are and just as beautiful as ever....

..after our spring (and I use the word sarcastically) storm of April 28th I wasn't sure I would even see daffodils this year in our yard....slowly but surely they are popping out and putting on quite a display of color.......

.....as are the thumbergia vines

...and the pansies...the jump ups are out as well as the gigantic ones that I transplanted...love these and nothing says spring like pansies....

....and of course new green leaves of every shape.....

...although it has been a busy trying week this week has been GOOD...promises of a new year are everywhere...I feel this will be an awkward year for many as with so much water still about many farmers and gardeners will have many uncertainties face them...healthwise I continue to experience reasonably GOOD health and am anxious fpr June 5th when I will walk in the MSWalk along with the company and support of my wonderful husband Lyle......
