just a few more from week 3 of January 2011

this is the dove we had visting...lighting was not GOOD so not a great shot prompting the purchase of a new camera....was great to have a new visitor at the feeder tho'.....

this is a present Lyle found out under the bird feeder...I surmize that one of the little bucks that has been visiting our bird feeder left this as a token of it's appreciation for all the corn and seed it has consumed from the feeder this winter...just a theory......

these are the first 2 copies of a new magazine we were given as a gift at Christmas....delightful magazines....thanks again.....

this is the snow we recieved over night...the deck step was cleared off the day previous....and yes the snow is still falling so we keep shovelling.......,.

this photo is of our friends pets....it is just to cute...I see them every day just 'people' watching the day away......

the weather the other day was warmer the wind wasn't howling and the sun was shining so Lyle decided to shovel the snow off the roof...there was an average of 1 and half feet and nearly 2 feet in sone places...

this is just a beautiful winter shot of a fallen tree which has formed an archway into the bush by our house.....

Week 3 of January 2011

we have had a very cold week accompanied by snow...we did however manage to get a bit of sunshine which always improves the mood of the multitudes...along with all the activity that happens to happen daily I lost my female bird leaving me with a cranky male and 4 eggs...since she is gone he will have nothing to do with the eggs..before that he was totally involved...so I had the eggs candled and found 1 that was fertilized so set it under a heat lamp...am anxious to see what happen in the next 2-3 weeks...with all the snow it is getting harder to find places to put it...not sure what will happen this spring...started knitting a thrummed pair of mittens for my daughter and am nearly done them...since it has been so cold I decided to make some more straw/rasp jam and bake bread...Lyle's mom celebrated her 85th birthday this week so we were out for chinese food...quite enjoyed that...have not been feeling as GOOD as I would like..my feet legs and arms do not seem to cooperative ...but am pleased that neither myself or Lyle have had flu or a cold...just happened to glance out the window and yes the sun is shining and it is snowing again....


this week we had a dove visit us at our feeder...one that doesn't usually call in ..didn't get a Good photo of it as lighting was bad....that promted me to start hunting for a new camera and after much digging and research I decided on a Canon SX20IS on the recommendation of my sister..that should be hear this coming week so am anxious for that.......

a GOOD week but a snowy COLD week.....
