....today I am playing around trying to capture raindrops on the petals of plants

.....I find it quite fascinating that something as tiny as a single raindrop when it is joined with million others can cause such havoc.....life is full of interesting things

....after a sluggish slow start to my week I managed to take my Crew for their run and thanks to all the moisture our ditches and pastures are full of these 'lovilies'

......I had all but given up hope that my hostas weren't dead when they started to appear

.....the leaves on the trees are unfurling finally

.....and the fruit tree blossoms are popping .....slow but sure and maybe not on schedule but all according to plan none the less........Mother Nature you are such a tease....

.....from a sunny morning to.....

...another cloudy afternoon.....

the wather forecasters have coined a term I think is amusing...it is "MIXED"....I am sure when they don't know what will happen during the day they just say "in the forecast we have mixed weather".....you interpret it to mean whatever happens happens.....love that one and those 20-30% chance of rain usually means minimum of half inch of rain plus for a day or so......

...with the appearance the lilacs have begun to open and with cooler temperatures the color and fragrance have been peremating the air.....a full beautiful temptation for the senses

....yes as the day progressed so did the return of the clouds

.....today the clouds were changing and playing games....most of day it was cloudy but sun teased from time to time by trying to poke out......with the amount of rain we have been getting clouds are a gimme so I have decided to start checking them out.....

the above three photos are of our neighbours fruit trees across the road....they too have had more than their share of moisture but are still putting on quite a show....delightful to see...

.....the word of the day is ..."turbidity current"

turbidity current...a current of highly turbid (muddy) water carrying llarge amounts of suspended sediment that increases its density and causes it to flow downward through less dense water along the bottom slope of a lake or sea.....in layman's terms what water does when it flows from a higher area to a lower......and to think IT is happening in our front yard....amazing eh???:)

amazing what to much rain flooding ones driveway can teach us!!!!!

Day157-Day159 Wednesday June8,2011

this was taken Tuesday night when we were getting ready for bed...the Crew and and I had spent the day at the kotima exploring with Jay and Donna and of course 2-3 hours of cutting grass...they had so much running around to do.....

....on our tour of kotima we checked out this washout in valley

....these beauts were sporting off sunny blooms among the rocks on the hill at kotima

.....Jay across the creek looking back to the camp...feeling pretty smug that he had made it across the bridge althewhile waiting for Donna and I to pick him up with the Ranger

Day 156 Sunday June 5,2011

...today Lyle and I walked along with about 100 people in Wawota,Sask to help raise awareness about MS and to help raise funds for further research....the day was sunny and warm and we walked 5km.....thanks to all who supported me (was quite tired but it was a GOOD tired)

...today Kim Dani and I went to our friend Krista's bridayl shower...

...the happy bride-to-be and her mother

....a very happy mom and daughter (they probably have their own reasons for this bliss...lol)

Day152-Day154 Friday June 3,2011

the big maple on the corner of our lot just got topped .....the top branches were strting to grow intp the powerline.....

...and on the opposite side of driveway the row of trees there also got topped because they also were encroching into the powerline...with all the moisture the roots have very little support as they are standing in water...all that's left is cleanup....

..we started pumping the water from across driveway the first of May and here we are the first of June and yes we are still pumping......

this pair a finch and a redpoll have just turned their backs on the whole water situation and resigned themselves to hitting the feeder up for their daily sustenance...

Day 150-Day 151 Tuesday May 31 2011

the rain is starting to wear on us all....even this stray cat had had it's fill of fun and tried to find shelter under my flowercart.....

..oh yeah!....more rain clouds in the sky...albeit they do make for GOOD picture taking....

the raindrops are even weighing heavy on the leaves......

trying some new photography techniques......not sure I like blurred to enhance...I have to think about this.....

Day 147-Day149 May 29,2011

these honeysuckle do not seem to mind the cold rainy days we have been experiencing.....

..just another rainy day project.....

.....this week there have been several changes as the season starts to kick into action...the blooms on our fruit trees are popping...

...one of the latest pansies I have added to my yard.....

....the mountain ash are busy producing their fruit....

...even the little wood violets are prepared to show themselves for our pleasure..

....and the lilac are so close to popping....can't wait......




this week has been a week of promise as plants and animals promise a wonderful summer...albeit a bit slow getting started......has been a GOOD week.....since May 26 is MS Awareness Day....my wish is that with awareness a cure can be found for the many demons such as MS Cancer and Diabetes many of us face daily.....

..after a trying few days of dealing with our loss I believe this oriole was sent to tell us that Brad is well and that wile we will miss and mourn him life must go on just as this prickly pear demonstrates as it started to burst into color today from a once dorminant state.....life goes on and it can be prickly but it is GOOD....
