this is a pond just down the road...ducks looked like they were enjoying this afternoon of sunshine and no rain.......

while a lot of the trees in town have lost their leave these I noticed are still putting on quite a display of color....(they are in front of the school..I took this on my walk this a.m.)

these are the cranberries I picked today..they are so big and juicy...apparently they like wet cool weather...they were very easy picking too, we were only out about half an hour....

today is Fence Friday on my flickar photostream so this picture of the cows and fence was what I posted with the caption and story of the little boy asking his gpa if the fence was there to keep the cows in or to keep him out....the weather was definitely warmer...my friend and I went and picked some cranberries...it was a delightful afternoon for that...(I just finished cleaning them)....tomorrow a.m. I am going to turn them into cranberry ketchup...great stuff...I still have 2 jumpers to finish up which should happen as the cranberries cook down....when we were out the Crew had an afternoon of exploration and now they are both burned out and snoring...with the promise of warmer weather I am so excited...have some outside puttering to do and did I mention the grass is still green and growing...it has been a very GOOD day just a bit tired tonight and hips and legs sore..just may have overdone it....oh well hopefully feel better in the a.m. after a GOOD night of rest.........have a GOOD weekend all.....:)

well if the 21st wasn't the first day of fall then it has to be today the 23rd..in any case fall is officially here...and not such a nice day again..not to wet just a bit cold..we did have a few sprinklings of sunshine...but not enough to make me leave my sewing room and rush outdoors...my walk was refreshing to say the least...today I holed up in my sewing room and sewed up some of that fabric I bought...I cut out 3 Ginger Jumper's and sewed up 2..1 still needs buttons (next challenge finding 12 pretty red buttons)...my MS does not like anything tight around my waist (it's called a MS hug..lol does not feel like a hug..feels more like being squeezed to death) so I opt for a loose fitting jumper or dress...I have just added 3 new ones to my collection....after my pedique and manicure tomorrow a.m. I am going back to finish up sewing my jumpers.....the rumour is that the next several days are going to be nice weather wise...so if that is so I want to be outdoors....I have had a very GOOD day holed up sewing....Ginger Jumper's...they are a GOOD thing......:)

today I spent the day washing scrubbing cutting slicing and bagging CARROTS....did I forget making carrot relish?...thanks to the generosity of my Uncle Nick we came back last week end with a gunny sack of carrots...I seemed to be seeing orange (probably better than red)...and by day's end I was exhausted..no TV blogging flickar facebook nothing....by the time I tidied up my house hit the shower it was enough for 1 day so off to bed I went at 8:30p.m....that's what a GOOD day's work will do......oh well there's always tomorrow......:)

today is the first day of fall or is the first day of fall September 23....depends who you ask and what calendar you look on...all I know is that by Thursday fall will be here for sure.....as promised I have sorted some photos of my Uncle Nick's place from the week end (he is my Dad's only remaing sibling) he lives on the original farm and some of the original buildings still remain making for some GOOD photos .........

Monday September 20,2010

today we spent part of day putting all our veggies away...the rest being thankful that we weren't out digging them as it was cold weput and not to nice....I am also feeling the effects of a busy week end and my needle but oh well...by the days end I am not to bad...tomorrow I will sort some more photos and post some of my other uncle's farm and yard...he lives on the home place where my Dad and he grew up...Bad day but getting Better to almost GOOD.....need GOOD night of rest.......:) ( this is my cold storage bin full of potatos carrots beets parsnips and onions)

for some reason some of these carrots seemed to grow together ie. this one has 5 stems and only 1 big carrot..mutants I think lol or crazy season perhaps.....
