needle day ...March 14,2010

Another "hurting" day but only till noon. Sunday is the day I get my Avonex(an interferon beta blocker) Avonex is taken in the form of 1 needle per week(which I give to myself)...it is taken to decrease the number of flare-ups and to slow down the occurance of some of the physical disability assoiated with MS...it is not a cure just part of a maintenance program. Avonex is a mixed blessing..while it provides relief it also consumes about 1 and a half days each week. The day of the injection is a write-off as I have very low energy and sleep is my best friend. Today has been consumed with rest and Lyle preparing to return to Saskatoon. Some of the other side effects are only moderate to mild by tonight. Our friend is leaving in the morning for a Cuban holiday..that means his canine companion ,Nina (a pug) will be holidaying with the "Crew" and I for the next 10 days. She adjusts quite nicely to our routine considering she is an only 'child'. fter a good nights rest I will be right as rain and ready to face the new week and all it has to offer. Today has been a GOOD day as I am still able to enjoy and appreciate the benefits of my needle.......
